How to use this weekly planner
Choose the week, enter your available project hours and describe one result you want to finish. Add specific tasks with estimated minutes. Use more than one block on a day if needed; leave days empty when you have other commitments. The total updates as you type.
If the plan is over capacity, reduce a task or move it to another week. Leave some time for delays. Mark work complete as you go, then compare the result with your original intention at the review. The planner counts all scheduled work, including completed tasks, against the week’s budget.
A weekly planner template you can keep
Use Download your plan for a plain-text file you can edit in any text editor. Print / save as PDF opens your browser’s print dialogue with a clean version of your current plan. Choose Save as PDF if your browser offers it. The blank text template is also available above, including when JavaScript is disabled.
Your entries stay in this browser’s local storage and are not sent to Realmstry. They do not sync between devices. Download a copy if you need to keep a record or use a shared device. You can clear the local plan using the Clear plan button.
Turn the plan into a small action plan
Write tasks as actions with an observable finish. “Prepare launch” is difficult to schedule. “Write the three product descriptions, 60 minutes” gives the block a clear job. If you need another person’s input, include asking for it as a task and record what you can do while waiting.
The weekly result, task sequence and review together form a short action plan. Use a separate project brief for a larger scope or a deadline several weeks away. This tool covers one week and one main result; it is not a team calendar or a scheduling service.
Review before starting another week
Check what exists: the draft, sent proposal, test result or published page. Record what got in the way and make one decision about next week. Carry forward unfinished work only after checking that it is still required and that its estimate is realistic.
If you want someone to review commitments with you, Finish Sprint provides private support around one project and Weekly Counsel offers an ongoing hosted forum. You can also use the planner independently or with a colleague who has agreed to help.
Print a weekly planner without signing up
Use the planner above without creating an account or entering an email address. To make a filled-in copy, add your tasks and use Print / save as PDF. To start on paper, print the empty planner or download the blank text template. A PDF produced by the browser is intended for printing; the text download is the editable file.
Keep the plan focused on one weekly result. Add an estimate beside each task, compare the total with your available hours and leave room for changes. At the end of the week, use the project review guide to decide what belongs in the next plan.
